School Violence

I am interested in learning more about school violence. Since this is a topic that is very prominent in our schools today I hope finding information about it will be easier than I think. Since this is a topic that is often brushed under the rug I think it will be difficult to find information about it. I was thinking I could include interviews with people that have experienced school violence -- like the columbine shooting -- and offer a different perspective about such a heavy issue. I know someone who experienced this that I could contact and hopefully it will help me develop this perspective further.

The dynamics of school violence is a great topic to consider! I know we all greatly fear any violence in our schools happening and it is a common thought for anybody. This topic is relevant to anybody because we have all been in school, know someone curently in school or are personally taking classes. The innocence with such an institution being harmed is what scares me the most.
When considering becoming a teacher, violence in our classrooms can be very scary, yeah?
I hope you have a lot of success finding information you can use in your paper! I am sure with how much this topic has been in the news, you are bound to find some decent articles.

Good choice. School Violence is a fascinating subject esp with the outbreak that the United States has been having with shootings. It is no longer just the gangs to be scared of. Are you going to incorporate how we can keep them safer or just the overall fears that students and teachers have on this matter?

i think that this topic is great and very relevant to our time. i think that interviewing would be a very powerful tool into making the reader feel like you are emotionally engaged in your paper and that you feel strongly aou tschool violence. this would also make reading your paper really interesting to see what the eye witness has to say. i think that throughout your research you should look at preston junior high school. they had a big threat about 2 years ago with a couple of students that had a real plan to start some school violence, and that is right here in fort collins. you could explore how the students got exposed and what it meant to that junior high school community. that would make the topic seem like it is relevent to our town as well and will engage readers even more. just a suggestion. good luck!
